Google rolls out Breakout Rooms for Google Meet! Helps teachers to divide students based on projects in a single video call.
The search giant Google is releasing a novel feature for Google Meet, the all-new Breakout room. Currently the update has been available for the G Suite Enterprise for Education customers and will be usable for other users in the future.
The Breakout rooms feature helps teachers and moderators to divide the students on a video call in different rooms for smooth and fuss-free communication. This feature assists in dividing projects, seminars and assignments work to the students. As of now, moderators can create up to 100 groups in a single video call.
How to create Breakout Room ?
Important: This feature currently work in G suite Enterprise for Education
- On your computer, start a video call.
- In the top right, click Activities Breakout rooms.
- In the Breakout rooms panel, choose the number of breakout rooms. You can create up to 100 breakout rooms in a call.
- Call participants will then be randomly and equally distributed across the rooms.
- To manually move people into different rooms, you can either:
- Enter the participant’s name.
- Click the participant’s name. Hold down the mouse, drag the name, and then drop it into another breakout room.
- To randomly mix up the groups again, click Shuffle .
- In the bottom right, click Create
